Wadiaa Khoury, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Faculties of Education of the Lebanese University and Universite Saint-Joseph. Her Thesis was on Educators' Civic Agency and her teaching and research currently focus on the Lebanese Education System, the Curricula and the Citizenship Education. Since 2001, Wadiaa has worked with Initiatives of Change – International (IofC); a world movement dedicated to "building trust across the world divides". Through IofC, she has worked in more than 20 countries studying their education system and observing their approaches to citizenship education. Currently, her main interest is exploring how to empower educators in Lebanon through self-discovery of civic agency and their role in shaping the country's policy instead of bearing the consequences of politics and poor governance that has led the country into despair. Hence, she initiated the Teachers Agents of Social Change (TASC) initiative.
