Melanie Innes (PhD) is a Workplace Learning Coordinator and Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Education at Charles Sturt University, Australia. Melanie's career in teaching began as a secondary History and Society & Culture teacher. Her research focuses on the challenge of new media to understandings of literacy in history, and the potential of history education in preparing students for democratic citizenship in the 21st Century, calling for a more dynamic understanding of literacies in curriculum and teacher training. Melanie is the Administrative Editor of Historical Encounters Journal.
