Dr Chris O’Connell is a Teaching Fellow at the School of Law and Government at Dublin City University. His most recent research project was co-funded by the European Commission and the Irish Research Council, and was developed in collaboration with Anti-Slavery International. The project focused on the relationship between and responses to climate change, environmental degradation and contemporary forms of slavery in Peru and Bolivia.

He is the author of the ground-breaking report entitled, ‘From a Vicious to a Virtuous Circle’. Chris holds a PhD in Political Science from Dublin City University, where he also lectures on politics and development. Chris is a qualified solicitor and experienced facilitator and global education professional. He has significant international experience, having lived and worked in a number of countries.
