Dr Sacha Davis completed his doctorate in history at the University of New South Wales, and lectures in History at the University of Newcastle, teaching courses in European history and historical methodology, in online and face to face environments. His research focuses on the German-speaking Central Europe, from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries. He has published extensively on relationships between national minorities and the modern state, with an emphasis on German diaspora communities in Central Europe, North America and Australia, and coercive regimes directed at Roma in the Habsburg Empire.
