Dr Michael Kilmister is an Academic Developer at the University of Reading, United Kingdom. In 2019, he was awarded his PhD in history from the University of Newcastle, Australia. He worked in a number of teaching and learning roles at the University of Newcastle between 2010 and 2021, including as a Learning Designer designing humanities courses for the University's fully online Bachelor of Arts degree. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE) and has published in the field of scholarship of teaching and learning on topics including designing authentic assessment and teaching national histories. Kilmister has been awarded for his work in supporting excellence in university teaching.
