Roland Bernhard (1980), Priv.-Doz. Mag. Dr., is a lecturer in history didactics and civic education and Senior Post-Doc at the University of Salzburg. In 2020-21 he was University Professor of History Didactics and Social History at the University of Vienna (Visiting Professor). From 2018 to 2020 he worked at Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Education at the University of Oxford. In 2019, he habilitated in the field of "History Didactics and Civic Education" at the University of Salzburg. He leads the research project "School Quality and Teacher Education" funded by the Austrian Science Fund. Research interests include the subject of history and social studies/political education, history teachers, historical cultures, analog and digital media, and the compensation of social disadvantage through education.

Er leitet das vom österreichischen Wissenschaftsfond finanzierte Forschungsprojekt "School Quality and Teacher Education". Forschungsschwerpunkte sind unter anderem das Fach Geschichte und Sozialkunde/Politische Bildung, Geschichtslehrpersonen, Geschichtskulturen, analoge und digitaler Medien sowie der Ausgleich sozialer Benachteiligung durch Bildung.
