Li Gerhalter, Dr. phil, is deputy director of the Sammlung Frauennachlässe (Collection of Women’s Personal Papers) at the Department of History at the University of Vienna, editor of the science blog Salon 21, and a freelance historian. She is a founding member of the EDAC – European Diary Archives and Collections Network and the president of frida – Verein zur Förderung und Vernetzung frauenspezifischer Informations- und Dokumentationseinrichtungen (Association for the Promotion and Networking of Women-Specific Information-Based and Documentation-Oriented Institutions) in Austria. Her current main research topics center on ego-documents with the main focus on diaries, auto/biography, research history, the concept of friendship, methods of remembrance and material cultures, gender history in the 20th century, and the politics of collecting and archiving.

Li Gerhalter, Dr.in phil, ist stellv. Leiterin der Sammlung Frauennachlässe am Institut für Geschichte der Universität Wien, Redakteurin des Wissenschaftsblogs Salon 21 und freie Historikerin. Sie ist Gründungsmitglied von EDAC – European Diary Archives and Collections Network und Vorsitzende von frida – Verein zur Förderung und Vernetzung frauenspezifischer Informations- und Dokumentationseinrichtungen in Österreich. Derzeitige Forschungsschwerpunkte: Selbstzeugnisforschung mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Tagebücher, Auto/Biographieforschung, Forschungsgeschichte, Freundinnenforschung, Erinnerungspraktiken und materielle Kulturen, Geschlechtergeschichte im 20. Jahrhundert, Sammel- und Archivierungspolitiken.
