Daniel Schumacher, PhD, is a lecturer at the Binational School of Education, University of Konstanz, where he works on digitalization efforts in teacher education. A historian by training, he has conducted extensive research on war memory in Asia and its relationship with processes of decolonization and globalization. Recently, he co-edited the book Remembering Asia’s World War Two (with Mark R. Frost and Edward Vickers) and co-authored a series of history school textbooks in Germany. He is a co-founder of the “War Memoryscapes in Asia Partnership” (WARMAP) and is currently part of a UNESCO project that explores Southeast Asia’s intangible conflict heritage.

Daniel Schumacher, Dr. phil. ist Akademischer Mitarbeiter an der Binational School of Education, Universität Konstanz, wo er an Digitalisierungsmaßnahmen in der Lehrer*innenbildung arbeitet. Geschichtswissenschaftlich hat er vor allem zu Kriegserinnerungen in Asien und deren Verbindung zu Dekolonisations- und Globalisierungsprozessen geforscht. Zu seinen jüngsten Publikationen zählen der von ihm (zusammen mit Mark R. Frost und Edward Vickers) herausgegebene Band Remembering Asia’s World War Two und eine Reihe deutscher Geschichtslehrwerke, die er als Co-Autor mitgestaltet hat. Er ist einer der Gründer des „War Memoryscapes in Asia Partnership“ (WARMAP) und ist Teil eines laufenden UNESCO-Projekts, das sich mit Südostasiens immateriellem Konflikterbe beschäftigt.
