Aroua Labidi, PhD, defended her dissertation in 2019 on national narratives in the Maghreb through history textbooks (University of Paris Nanterre). The title of her thesis is: "« A Common Destiny ». The Arab Conquest in the National Narrative in post-Independence Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia". Her research interests focus on institutional discourses on history and the uses of the past. She is also active in the field of scientific and cultural mediation. She worked as the main guide in the historical exhibition "The Rise of a Nation" organized by the National Heritage Institute and the Rambourg Foundation, Qsar Said Palace (Bardo, Tunisia). She is also a member of the association "Édifices & mémoires" focusing on the enhancement of Tunisia’s built heritage and she took part in different projects in this framework (contributions to the participative website www.edifices-et-memoires.com; involvement in the project "Heritage Collaborative Observatory" supported by UNESCO). Currently she is research associate of the research cluster Pasts in the Present (University of Paris Nanterre).

Aroua Labidi, Dr. phil., verteidigte 2019 ihre Dissertation über nationale Erzählmuster im Maghreb anhand von Geschichtslehrbüchern (Universität Paris Nanterre). Der Titel ihrer Dissertation lautet: ". Die arabische Eroberung in der Nationalerzählung in Algerien, Marokko und Tunesien nach der Unabhängigkeit".
Ihre Forschungsinteressen konzentrieren sich auf institutionelle Diskurse über Geschichte und den Gebrauch der Vergangenheit. Sie ist auch auf dem Gebiet der wissenschaftlichen und kulturellen Vermittlung tätig. Sie arbeitete als Hauptführerin in der historischen Ausstellung "The Rise of a Nation", die vom National Heritage Institute und der Rambourg Foundation organisiert wurde, im Qsar-Said-Palast (Bardo, Tunesien). Sie ist auch Mitglied der Vereinigung "Édifices & mémoires", die sich auf die Aufwertung des gebauten Erbes Tunesiens konzentriert, und sie hat in diesem Rahmen an verschiedenen Projekten teilgenommen (Beiträge zur partizipativen Website www.edifices-et-memoires.com; Beteiligung am Projekt "Heritage Collaborative Observatory", das von der UNESCO unterstützt wird). Gegenwärtig ist sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin des Forschungsclusters "Pasts in the Present" (Universität Paris Nanterre).
