Professor Sean Brawley has researched extensively on Australian history especially in relation to sports history, militarism, and 20th century Australian history.
He is currently Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Strategy and Assurance) at the University of Wollongong, Australia. Prior to this, Sean was at Macquarie University where he was Professor of History and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Programs and Pathways). Professor Brawley has remained research productive throughout his academic career. His work has explored themes of migration, war, sport and terrorism in the Asia-Pacific in transnational focus and especially Australia’s Asian context. Professor Brawley is Principal Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales.
