Roberto Simanowski (*1963) holds a PhD in literary studies and a Venia Legendi in media studies. Since 2014 he is professor for Digital Humanities and Digital Media Studies at the English Department and School of Creative Media at City University Hong Kong. He was a research fellow at University of Göttingen and Harvard University, professor for German studies at Brown University and for Media Studies at University of Basel. Simanowski is the founder and editor of the journal on digital culture and aesthetics dichtung-digital.org, editor of three books on digital literature, and author of five books on digital arts and online culture. His latest publications in English: “Digital Art and Meaning: Reading Kinetic Poetry, Text Machines, Mapping Art, and Interactive Installations” (University of Minnesota Press, 2011).

Roberto Simanowski, Dr. phil. (*1963), ist Professor für Digital Media Studies und Digital Humanities an der City University Hong Kong. Er studierte Literatur- und Geschichtswissenschaft an der Universität Jena, promovierte dort 1996 und habilitierte sich 2011 an der Universität Siegen. Visiting Fellow an der Harvard University und der University of Washington in Seattle, Gastprofessur für Medienwissenschaft und Kulturtheorie digitaler Medien in Jena. Er lehrte als Professor für German Studies an der Brown University in Providence und als Extraordinarius für Medienwissenschaft an der Universität Basel. Im Herbst und Winter 2014 erscheinen bei Matthes & Seitz seine Monographie Facebook und Medienbildung.
