Oliver Rathkolb, Mag. iur., Dr. iur., Dr. phil. (*1955), ist Univ.-Prof. am Institut für Zeitgeschichte der Universität Wien, diverse Gastprofessuren (u.a. Harvard University u. University of Chicago), Direktor des Ludwig-Boltzmann-Instituts für Europäische Geschichte und Öffentlichkeit (Juni 2005 - Februar 2008), Vorsitzender des Int. Beirats zur Errichtung eines Hauses der Geschichte Österreich und Mitglied des wissenschaftlichen Beirats beim Haus der Europäischen Geschichte in Brüssel. Forschungsschwerpunkte: Österreichische und internationale Zeit- und Gegenwartsgeschichte, Historische Diktatur- und Transformationsforschung sowie Geschichte der internationalen Beziehungen.
Oliver Rathkolb, PhD (*1955), is Professor at the Institute for Contemporary History and is Chair of the Department of Contemporary History at the University of Vienna and has been the founding director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for European History and Public Spheres 2005-2008. He was a Schumpeter Fellow at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies at Harvard University from 2000-2001 and Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago in 2003. Prof Rathkolb is author of several books focusing on contemporary history as well as editor and co-editor of several studies concerning interdisciplinary questions of contemporary history. Rathkolb is a member of the advisory board of the House of European History (European Parliament, Brussels) and chairman of the International
Advisory Board of the House of Austrian History.
