Jimena Perry, PhD is a Latin American Scholar specialized in Colombia. She earned a BS in Anthropology from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, an MPhil in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge, UK, and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research areas are history of anthropology, violence, museums, and memory. She brings these three bodies of scholarship together to understand which remembrances individuals and communities’ choose  to pass on to future generations or to forget. Jimena is also a public historian and is the Project Manager of Explorers of the International Federation for Public History since 2018, and member of the IFPH Steering Committee (2021-2024). She has also been a curator, a college instructor, and currently teaches Latin American and Oral History in the History Department at Iona University, New Rochelle, New York.

Jimena Perry, PhD estudió antropología en la Universidad de Los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia. Hizo una maestría en antropología social en la Universidad de Cambridge, Reino Unido, y obtuvo un doctorado en historia por la Universidad de Texas en Austin. Sus áreas de investigación son historia de la antropología, museos, violencia y memoria en América Latina. Está interesada en las formas en qué diferentes culturas recuerdan y representan eventos traumáticos de su pasado. Jimena también es historiadora pública; es la Coordinadora del proyecto Explorers de la Federación Internacional Historia Pública y ha sido parte del comité directivo de la misma federación (2021-2024). Actualmente, es profesora asistente del Departamento de Historia de Iona University, New Rochelle, Nueva York, en donde enseña historia de América Latina e historia oral.
