Gisele Iecker de Almeida, PhD, is a historian dealing with state-sponsored attempts to overcome difficult pasts. She has undertaken her doctoral research at the University of Ghent and was a Visiting Researcher at King’s College London’s Brazil Institute (2016) and Cardiff University’s School of Law and Politics (2017). Her research interests include historical redress; memory of the Brazilian dictatorship; discourse analysis and transitional justice. She is a member of the International Network for Theory of History (INTH).

Ela realizou sua pesquisa de doutorado na Universidade de Gante, tendo sido pesquisadora visitante no Brazil Institute na Universidade King’s College London (2016) e na Escola de Direito e Política da Universidade de Cardiff (2017). Seus temas de pesquisa incluem: lidar com o passado, memória da ditadura brasileira, análise do discurso e justiça de transição. É membro da International Network for Theory of History (INTH).
