Colm Mac Gearailt, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher on ‘CARTLANN’ (University of Galway) investigating the Conradh na Gaeilge archives, with a focus on language activism and the media. His PhD was entitled ‘Teaching the Nation’s Past: Irish History in Secondary Schools, 1924-69’ (TCD, 2019). His research interests are in history education, and the link between national identity and language. He has lectured in the history of education with TCD, Marino Institute of Education, and Hibernia College.
