Annekathrin Kohout, PhD (*1989) is a German writer and researcher with a background in German language and literature, art history, media theory, philosophy, aesthetics, and photography. She earned her degrees from TU Dresden and HfG Karlsruhe and completed her PhD in 2021 at the University of Siegen. Aside from her academic work, Kohout is a prolific freelance writer, co-editor of the “Digitale Bildkulturen” book series published by Klaus Wagenbach, and co-editor of the journal “POP. Kultur und Kritik”. Since 2022, she has been a member of the editorial board of the “Journal of Global Pop Cultures.”
